HomeNewsBeyond the shape: seating as a gesture of connection. In the world of design, every gesture carries meaning. The choice of a material, the intensity of a curve, the precision of a detail – all these elements help define a project that doesn’t merely fulfil a function but creates an experience. This is the approach that Sylvain Willenz has brought to his collaboration with Arrmet: a meeting point between formal research and the human side of design.

Beyond the shape: seating as a gesture of connection.

It is from this reflection that the project takes shape.

A gesture that welcomes not only the body but also the mind; that invites pause and creates space around itself. It is not just about comfort, but about intentional design.
A studied yet soft form. Essential, yet deep. Aligned with Arrmet’s identity, yet open to a new narrative possibility within the Cèpe collection of poufs and side tables for lounge areas.

The new lounge chair fits naturally into the Cèpe collection:

the same formal philosophy, the same design discipline, but with a new tactile and emotional intensity. It is not a decorative addition, Cèpe Lounger is the shape of what was missing—designed to complete the collection and intended to create informal lounge micro-environments in public spaces, offices, hotel lobbies, and even residential settings where waiting and relaxation converge.

The Designer:

Sylvain Willenz is a designer renowned for blending geometric rigour with a human-centred approach. His aesthetic is defined by clean lines and simple forms, yet always infused with soul. His collaboration with Arrmet has resulted in a collection that is not content to be mere furniture—it tells a story of emotions and relationships through design. The entire project revolves around a clear concept: the design object as a gesture. A gesture that is not passive, but one that activates the space, inviting the user to pause, to rest, to enjoy the comfort of both the seat and the surrounding environment.

The Collection: a modular, organic system.

The Cèpe collection takes shape through an organic modularity, capable of adapting to various spaces and design styles.
It includes upholstered poufs in four different sizes, conceived for free and flexible compositions; side tables with upholstered bases and tops available in various finishes, ideal for lounge corners or waiting areas.
Today, we introduce the Lounger: a low, soft, enveloping seat that represents the natural evolution of the collection. The result of a coherent and gradual vision, where each element is born to dialogue with the others, while maintaining its own distinct identity.
